The Butterfly World in Coconut Creek Florida seems like a world to itself. Today I am sharing a few images from last winter’s visit. They reopened today: https://www.butterflyworld.com/hurricane-closure-and-preparation/, and will release the butterflies and finches back into their outdoor habitats. There was no damage to the facilities by Irma.
Emerging Musk Thistle (Carduus Nutans) found along the Grant’s Trail in St. Louis during a morning walk. Beautiful, but untouchable for all its bristles.

When things are all the same color with minimal variations in tone then pattern becomes the primary characteristic descriptor. Now that the weather has chilled and plants are dormant, brown is the color of many of the images I have created the past few weeks. Enjoy some of nature’s patterns easily visible this time of year.
